The ProForm 290SPX Indoor Exercise Bike
The ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer is designed for an indoor cardio workout, and is designed such that it can be adjusted and used by almost anyone. It features non-slip handlebars that are designed to allow a great range of riding styles and grips based on preference, and also a padded seat which can be moved both vertically and horizontally to better accommodate riders.
The ProForm 290 runs with a chain drive that provides smooth and steady resistance to riders. The resistance comes from brake pads on the big flywheel. It comes with a water bottle holder, and with pedals with straps designed to more comfortably hold feet in place while riding. The ProForm 290 can be easily moved from one room to other with the two small wheels attached to the front and designed for transporting the machine.
This is a spin bike and as such the bike is built heavy but is relatively simple in construction and simple to use too.

The ProForm 290 Reviews
Buyers generally had positive things to say about the ProForm 290 SPX indoor exercise bike. They reported that the additional assembly required was not overly much, and involved much less work than what it takes to put together a typical magnetic resistance bike like the Schwinn 240 for example. Transportation via the transportation wheels was reviewed as easy, on the whole.
The bike was reported to provide a good, solid exercise bike workout, which is due in part to the weighty flywheel that provides momentum for riders. Users also mentioned that the highly adjustable bike was able to accommodate both tall and short riders. Resistance is easily adjustable, and allows users to increase the intensity of their workout by twisting the "sensitive" adjustment knob. The bike is reputed to feel, on the whole, very solid and sturdy.
Customers did tend to note that the chain drive was not nearly as quiet as advertised, and in some cases was too loose, resulting in an irritating slapping sound caused by the chain's impact with the chain guard. Some found the seat uncomfortable, and advocated the purchase of another, better seat for replacement. The water bottle holder was described as being composed of "cheap" plastic, but not unexpected on a stationary bicycle priced as cheaply as the ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer.
