Schwinn Exercise Bikes
Schwinn exercise bikes come in all price ranges and in all the different designs and styles. Schwinn is one of the major brands of exercise bikes and the company has a long history of selling quality bikes at reasonable prices. Following are four examples of different Schwinn bike designs. These examples are popular models in each of the four major styles.
Indoor Cycling Bike
The Schwinn
IC Evolution SR
is a great example of what's called an indoor cycling bike. This bike
is designed to feel and perform like a road bike and stand up for a
long time to intense use.

This bike has a heavy 38 pound flywheel for smooth pedaling plus it's shape and weight make it stable for hard pedaling. Includes real bike components for a road bike performance. The resistance is infinitely variable throughout the resistance range so you can adjust the workout intensity just where you want it.
This is a premium bike for serious bicycle enthusiasts.
Schwinn Airdyne
The dual action Schwinn
Airdyne works your
arms and legs with resistance from turning a fan. The faster you pedal
and pump, the higher resistance your workout.
The Airdyne bikes have been produced since the 1970's and are something of a classic. The model shown here, the Evo Comp, is an updated model with a smaller fan than the original. This version also has a quieter drive by belt rather than chain.

The Airdyne is a simple design that requires very little if any maintenance and will go for years with no trouble. My personal bike is an original Airdyne model and has over 7,000 miles on it. It has required no maintenance and still works just like it did when I bought it used years ago.
The only downside to these bikes is the noise from the resistance fan. These bikes are not nearly as quiet as the magnetic resistance bikes. The plus is the breeze from the fan keeps you cool!
Upright Models
The upright bikes are the traditional shape of an exercise
bike. The Schwinn
131 Upright Exercise Bike
is a popular example. The less expensive bikes are the upright models.
But there are plenty of features with a bike like this. This one has a
computer with several workout programs plus the standard feedback on
your heart rate plus speed, time elapsed, calories burned, power output
and more. Resistance can be set at 16 levels.

An upright bike has a small footprint if size is a problem. Plus it's just an easy step on and go size. Some people find upright designs uncomfortable since your weight is on your pelvic bones, like on a regular bicycle.
Recumbent
A recumbent bike is comfortable to use because you sit
reclining on a large, adjustable seat. The Schwinn
231 Recumbent Bike
is a very popular model with users. You get silent magnetic resistance,
with lots of preprogrammed workouts and the machine is heavy enough so
it's stable. There's not a lot of rocking around like on a lesser
machine. Comfort is one of the main reasons so many people like
recumbent designs. The more comfortable the ride, the better chance
you'll actually use the bike. This bike is noted for it's extra
comfortable seat.

With the sitting position and the quiet drive, you can watch TV or read while you pedal this model.
Schwinn exercise bikes come in so many models that you probably can find what you're looking for without looking at other brands. Some companies online discount the price of the bikes and ship for free. You can order online and get your bike without driving all over looking for what you want.
